Heirlooms of a Different Sort

Monday, August 25th, 2014

Rain or shine, sun or snow, we love turning other people’s trash  into fresh, family heirlooms.  But, it wouldn’t be summer at Fresh Heirlooms without mentioning the New Kensington Community Garden, of which we are a proud partner.  Below is an image of a veggie care package, recently donated to residents of a local senior housing community.   Also pictured is another kind of “fresh heirloom” –  delicious red, green, and orange tomatoes, including many heirloom varieties grown by our own Farmer Joe himself!

Is your mom seedy?

Friday, May 4th, 2012
Sets of 3 handmade paper cards and 3 matching envelopes are available at Fresh Heirlooms.

Just in time for Mom’s day, we finished up a batch of handmade paper embedded with wildflower seeds.  Sold in sets of three (with matching envelopes), these pretty and practical cards can be written on, sent, and then planted in the ground or in a pot to sprout and blossom.

We made the paper itself with our used printer and copier paper, so it is truly the ultimate recycling.
Stop by to pick up your set or send your seedy mom on in!
